- Make a list of things you require in a home - things you would like to have and things you do not want. This list will help you think beyond the basics.

- Don't worry if you do not have the usual 20% down payment. Many lenders offer low interest mortgages with a little as 3% down. Get Pre-qualified!

- The kitchen is the heart of your home - make sure your kitchen meets all of your needs. For example, is it a quick trip from your car to your kitchen?

- Newer and older homes have advantages of their own. Older homes are usually located in more established neighbors and have lower property taxes. Newer homes offer modern architecture, ease in maintenance, and are more energy efficient.

- Consider discount points on your new mortgage if you plan to be in your home for a long time. Points are money paid up front that reduce your interest rate.

- You may prefer access to schools, shopping, public transportation and public facilities, like libraries, or you may prefer a peaceful rural community.

Let me help you find the home that suits your needs and is best for your family!
